EROSKI S.COOP. is a cooperative that was founded in 1969 following the merger of nine local independent consumer cooperatives, It applies a corporate-business model in which its consumers are also involved. The cooperative’s governance is exercised on a equal footing, with a 50% share each for its consumer and worker members.
Eroski S. Coop is the Eroski Group’s parent company, and has over 2,000 retail outlets in a range of different formats and businesses: food, textile, footwear, domestic appliances, travel, sports, perfumes, opticians, petrol stations, insurance, mobile phones...
Eroski S.Coop pledges itself to corporate social responsibility through the EROSKI Foundation. Five values define the business project and the way the company relates to people and the environment: Cooperation, Participation, Social responsibility, Innovation and Commitment.
Its workforce numbers 10,440 people, of whom 82% are women and 18% are men.
